Vos missions en quelques mots
Tasks
The main task of the person recruited will be to analyse Understanding Society data. In addition, in coordination with the project team, the person recruited will be involved in:
- literature review;
- constructing and harmonising variables between databases;
- writing papers for academic journals;
- participating in the team's collective activities (meetings, scientific events, etc.).
The person recruited will work under the supervision of Anne LAMBERT (Researcher at INED; P.I. of the EqualHealth Project) and Giacomo VAGNI (Assistant Professor, Essex University). He or she will be administratively attached to INED.
In accordance with INED's policy on hosting post-docs, the post-doc recruited will be able to devote 20% of her/his time to her/his own work: publication or promotion of previous work, personal research, preparation of applications for research careers. Profil recherché
Profile required
The person recruited must hold a PdD in sociology or demography. The skills expected are :
- An interest in and knowledge of the project's themes (nonstandard work schedules, mental health, gender, etc.)
- Good quantitative analysis skills, particularly in the processing of longitudinal data
- A strong knowledge of R software;
- Autonomy, organisational skills;
- Fluency in English;
- An interest in mixed methods and interdisciplinary approaches;
- Knowledge of Understanding Society would be highly appreciated.

Description of Ined
The mission of the French Institue for Demographic Studies (INED), a public scientific and technological establishment (EPST), is to conduct research into various demographic issues (fertility and the family, health and mortality, migration, etc.) and to inform the public about current developments. Ined is multidisciplinary in terms of both its recruitment and the research it carries out. It employs a total of 250 people (permanent staff, contract staff and doctoral students) and welcomes a large number of associate researchers and foreign guests. INED is at the heart of a network of national and international research partnerships.

Project description
The EqualHealth project, funded by the the French National Research Agency (ANR) for a period of 3 years (2025-2028), aims to improve knowledge of the links between non-standard work schedules and mental health over the life course. Particular attention will be paid to gender variations in these processes.
The research is based on the analysis and comparison of three national cohorts (Constances, Slosh, Understanding Society) and a corpus of 90 biographical interviews. The EqualHealth research team consists of ten researchers from various disciplines (sociology, demography, public health, political science) and institutions (INED, Sciences Po Paris, Panthéon Sorbonne University, Rouen-Normandie University, Universtiy of Essex, Stockholm University).
