Vos missions en quelques mots
Duties and responsibilities: The cook participates in the development of recipes and the preparation of dishes served in the various catering facilities of the National Assembly (restaurants, cafeterias and self-service areas). They are responsible for both traditional and institutional catering.
Its activities are as follows:
Assisting the head chef in preparing the menu, menus and meals:
- Formulate suggestions for the development of the menu and wine list, taking into account nutritional guidelines.
- Consult the meal preparation schedule
- Prepare a list of the food items needed to create the menus.
- Participate in the receiving, registration and control of foodstuffs (quality, quantity and nature of foodstuffs)
Proceed to prepare the food:
- Gather the various food items needed to prepare the recipes, ensuring they are in good condition.
- Carry out the technical preparation of the dishes by following the different steps provided in the recipes (cutting, slicing, raising and cooking)
- To ensure visual and taste testing of the quality of prepared foods
- Prepare the plates for serving
Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety rules:
- Ensure good hygiene of the premises by regularly participating in necessary cleanings.
- Implement hygiene standards for food handling and food preparation.
Keeping informed about the evolution of culinary products and techniques and passing on this knowledge:
- Consult the documentation and specialized resources relating to the evolution of culinary products and techniques.
- Gather information on new food products available, where applicable from suppliers and producers
- To monitor the technical aspects of using new kitchen equipment
- Training apprentices and trainees in the profession of cook

Required qualification: Culinary diploma (minimum CAP or BEP).
Required professional experience: 5 years of proven experience in cooking. Experience in a similar position (restaurant, institution) would be an asset.

The recruitment of contract staff in the services of the National Assembly is authorized by the College of Quaestors and implemented in compliance with the principle of equal access to public employment.
Civil servants may apply for this position, provided they can request a leave of absence for personal reasons from their original department. Secondments and temporary assignments are not possible.
